There are several conditions that would require restorative dentistry. You may have tooth decay, tooth infection, or an improper bite, all of which would warrant some restorative dental work.
What is dental fillings?
A type of restorative dentistry is dental fillings. This is usually warranted by decay that has spread within the tooth and is now needing to be corrected with a filling.
When is a dental crown needed?
Dental conditions that would require restorative treatment, such as dental crowns, include extensive decay, a fractured tooth, or things of that nature, to help restore the tooth back to function.
What are inlays and onlays?
Restorative works such as inlays and onlays could be warranted by several different dental conditions. You could have existing dental work that needs to be replaced, or you could have a missing part of your tooth, a small fractured part of your tooth that can be restored with an onlay and not necessarily having to do a whole dental crown.
When to consider a dental bridge?
Certain dental conditions, such as missing teeth or a non-restorable tooth, would warrant restorative treatment such as a dental bridge.
When is a dental implant procedure needed?
Certain dental conditions that would warrant a dental implant procedure would be missing teeth or a failing tooth that cannot be restored anymore, and we need to replace that tooth to make sure your bite has function.
Is anesthesia used in restorative procedures?
Anesthesia is almost always used during different dental restorative procedures. We want to make sure the patient is totally comfortable while we restore their tooth.
What are the benefits of restorative dentistry?
The benefits of restorative dentistry are restoring your teeth back to health. We remove decay, infections, all sorts of things of that nature, and make sure that your smile is beautiful and functional.
What are the success rates for restorative procedures?
Success rates for dental restorative procedures are entirely dependent on what dental work you're having done, how well you maintain your oral health at home, and how often you make sure you're coming in to see your dentist regularly.
